This year we are celebrating the first successful year of our sustainability pledge at Robinson. Taking steps to become more sustainable can have its challenges, but we took advantage of being a small agile business. This meant we could effectively integrate sustainability at the very core of our business operations and values.
It is important that decisions around sustainability make business sense, whether that’s delivering energy savings or providing opportunities for the business to grow. To help us achieve this, we have strategically put in place an energy and carbon team across the Group to focus on all areas of the business, utilising the expertise we have in house and helping to drive change.
Sustainability is a broad spectrum and it’s about understanding and harnessing each area to our advantage. We identified five main areas: Transformation, focused on helping to deliver a circular economy; Intelligence, delivering purposeful product design; Regeneration, creating sustainable business operations; People, upskilling our teams; and Community, helping to support our local area. All of these elements play a vital role in helping our business to become more sustainable and to be successful it is important to have a 360 degree approach to maximise impact.
